While we work on brand new CE tracks to release on our next EP, here’s a little interim piece for you.
It’s a remix of the Warsaw Village Band’s song ‘Mathew’. I heard it on a BBC4 documentary about them, and thought it was such a great track I wanted to have a little play with it. So, I contacted their management and they gave me the parts.
The Warsaw Village Band are a Polish group who play both traditional Polish folk songs, as well as songs with a more modern twist. They are really really good, and I can thoroughly recommend their album Uprooting .
This song, Mateusz, their manager tells me, is about women in the fields telling each other about the ‘erotic exploits of a young man called Matthew’. Sounds like fun, eh?
(Note that Lucy isn’t singing on this, it is literally a remix of the song – in fact the only things we kept from the original are the vocals…)
It’s a bit different, let us know what you think!
