My favourite tracks…

..according to iTunes.

So, iTunes counts the number of times you play a track, so I thought I wonder what my top ones were. I’ve had an ipod for 4 or 5 years so it should be quite interesting. I’m not entirely sure the following is accurate though, but heck it’s a list and that’s what the internet was invented for…

1. Warsaw Village Band, ‘Mathew’

Cos I did that remix recently, I was playing this song a lot and playing it to other people

2. Soulwax, ‘NY Excuse’

This is just a completely amazing track and if you’ve not heard it yet…well, you need to hear it.

3. LCD Sound System, ‘Get Innocuous’

4. LCD Sound System, ‘Time to Get Away’

Got the album recently, listened to it quite a lot. ‘All My Friends’ is easily my favourite track (and the best one on there), but ‘Get Innocuous’ and ‘Time to Get Away’ are the fist two songs, so I guess that explains why they’re here. Actually don’t think the album is all that, though has some great moments. The Roxy music / Virginia Plains vibe of All My Friends being the main one.

5. Fischer Spooner, ‘Emerge’

Well, if you don’t recognise this as one of the best songs of the last 10 years, electronic or not, then I don’t believe we can remain friends.

6. A Guy Called Gerald, ‘Voodoo Ray’

The rave scene did produce some utterly fantastic music. This is one of ‘em.

7. LCD Sound System, ‘Someone Great’

8. The Presets, ‘Hill Stuck’

9. The Presets, ‘Bad Up Your Betterness’

I’m as surprised as you are that these are so high. I mean, I like ‘em, I just didn’t think I listened to them that much! ‘The Girl and The Sea’ is my favourite Presets track.

10. Simian Mobile Disco, ‘Clock (bonus track)’

Love this one. A nod to past electronic music, very chord and melody based. Hustler and It’s the Beat are best though.

11. Blaze, ‘My Beat (techno mix)’

Can’t remember who did this mix of this song, but it’s minimal techno at it’s very best. The sort that when the off-beat closed hi-hat is dropped in, it causes an orgasm of the mind.

12. Bo Diddley, ‘Bo Diddley

Some rock’n'roll. Why not? Bow Wow Wow borrowed the vibe of this for ‘I Want Candy‘, I reckon.

13. Delays, ‘Long Time Coming’

Yep. It’s a very good pop song. Though I thought the singer was female for an age.

14. Depeche Mode, ‘Meaning of Love’

This is no way my favourite DM song. I blame ipod shuffle!

15. Fried Robots, ‘Fake Real’

Crazy French unsigned electropop. Get them on Shifty Disco
